Generative AI for banks and insurers, under control

Banks and insurers want the productivity of generative AI without losing control of data, cost or compliance. I have built that for the Crédit Agricole group (LCL) and AXA: platforms used by hundreds of people, agents that work on evidence, and the controls regulators ask for.

What changes in a regulated company

Every AI request becomes a question of access rights, data location, cost and evidence. The EU AI Act asks for governance of AI systems, DORA asks for proof of how risks are handled, and internal audit asks who did what.

A pilot can ignore all of that. Hundreds of users cannot.

What I have delivered

  • A self-service GenAI platform: for 90 teams at LCL, behind one gateway that applies the bank's rules to every request.
  • Claude Code for 120+ engineers: at AXA, with company sign-in, EU data with zero retention, per-team budgets and costs that match the bill within 0.3%.
  • HIBOU: one risk-ranked view of vulnerabilities across 700+ applications, with the fix history kept as evidence under DORA.
  • A-Pad: agents that assess governance files on evidence, while a person decides.

Controls built in from the start

Company identity and role-based access; EU residency and zero data retention where required; quotas, cost tracking and chargeback; guardrails; an audit trail for every request and every agent run; human approval wherever the decision matters.
